ENGINE REASSEMBLY
21. If the rod is closer to one side of the crank, remove the cylinder and separate the cases.  Move one or more shims from one end of the crankshaft to the other, to change the crankshaft's location in the cases.

22. Install the assembly again as detailed above and check the centering of the connecting rod on the crank pin.  Repeat until the rod is centered.

23. Remove the cylinder and piston and separate the cases.  Remove the shims and tag them left and right, so they don't get mixed up.  Remove the dummy bearing from the crankshaft and install the left main bearing and crankshaft oil seals as detailed above.

ENGINE CASES REASSEMBLY

1. Lightly oil all gearbox components with SAE 30 motor oil.

2. Install the transmission fifth driven gear in the right transmission bearing as far as it will go (see Figure 15).  Tap lightly with a soft mallet to seat it against the bearing.

3. Turn the case around and install the sprocket spacer, transmission sprocket, tab washer, and sprocket nut from the magneto side.

4. Use the appropriate size Ossa sprocket holding tool and the Ossa sprocket nut wrench.  The nut has a left-hand thread, so tighten it counterclockwise until it is tight (see Figure 16).  Bend the tabs of the washer against two flats of the nut.

5. Assemble all transmission components in the right case as detailed in Chapter Two.

6. Install the slotted plastic breather tube to the breather boss at the top of the case, with the slots in the tube facing forward (see Figure 17).

7. Coat both sides of the new center case gasket with grease, not cement.  Install the gasket on e right case.
