5. There is only the one spacer washer inboard of the lay shaft first idler gear and one on either end of the kickstarter shaft, and no other thick washers on the ends of the other transmission shafts.
6. The shafts usually have one .004" to .008" shim on one end.  The location of these shims is simple, because every shaft has a different diameter.
