 6. Occasionally the wheel will not turn freely with the axle nut or nuts tightened snugly.  This is usually caused by prior over tightening of the axle nuts which results in a slight collapse of the spacer tubes mentioned in Step 5 above.  Replacement of the spacer tubes will cure the problem.

7. Oil the felt washer which fits over the axle before reassembly (Number 943362 on the exploded drawing, Figure 1).

8. Bearings may be installed with either side facing in unless one side is shielded.  The shielded side faces out.
 
 

ADJUSTING SPOKES

1. Spokes must be kept tight at all times.  Exercise care when tightening to keep them even and the wheel in alignment.

2. The wheel may be trued as shown in Figure 9 by tightening and loosening spokes on opposite sides of the hub to obtain an aligned wheel.
