25. Have someone hold the rear brake on with both wheels
on the ground. Hold the front wheel with one hand and the junction
of the top triple clamp and steering head with the other hand (see Figure
33). Push the wheel back and forth as it would move if the motorcycle
were rolling forward and backward. If there is any play at the top
of the steering head, tighten the bearings as detailed above.
26. Be sure to loosen the top yoke nut and top yoke pinch bolt, as well as all top triple clamp pinch bolts before adjusting the shaft collar (see Figure 34) with a hammer and punch. 27. Install the handlebars and torque the bolts to 10 ft-lb. 28. Install the front brake cable in the stop and brake arm on the hub. 29. Fill the forks with 190-200cc of SAE 30 motor oil as detailed above. 30. On Pioneer models, install the speedometer bracket on top of the right fork tube and install the cap nut to secure it. Torque to 50 ft.-lb. 31. Install the gas tank breather hose into the steering shaft nut. 32. On Pioneer models, install the speedometer cable in the drive unit
on the front hub.
