1. Remove the drain screw and fiber gasket from the bottom rear of each fork leg (see arrow in Figure 1).
2. Apply the front brake and push down repeatedly on the handlebars to pump the oil out of the forks.
3. Check the drain screws and fiber washers for wear or damage. Replace if necessary and install them in the fork legs.
4. Prop up the motorcycle with the front wheel off the ground. Remove the cap nuts from the top of the fork tubes (see Figure 2).
