8. The liner has a smaller diameter on the bottom (see Figure 56) to start it into the cylinder.  After it is one or two inches inside the cylinder, let go and it will drop into place.

9. Grab the bottom of the liner quickly (see Figure 57) and turn it to align the ports with the cylinder.  You have 6 to 10 seconds to do this after the liner drops into place in the cylinder.

10. Put a heavy weight on top of the liner and leave the cylinder supported by the bottom fins while the cylinder cools to room temperature.
11. After the cylinder is cool, check the alignment of the ports.  If there is a slight misalignment, correct it now with a grinding tool, so any scratches in the liner will be removed when it is bored.

12. Bore the new liner to the correct piston clearance as detailed in Figure 54, and hone as detailed above.
